Privacy & policy

Your time records, kept fair and private.

This app records the hours you work at Brazico. Here is what it keeps, who can see it, and the Australian and New South Wales rules it follows, in plain words.

What we record

Your name, contact details, date of birth and employee number; your roster; each clock in, break and clock out; leave you ask for and any document you attach; and the device used to sign in.

We record this to pay you for the hours you worked, to plan rosters and leave, and because the law asks employers to keep time records.

Photos at the kiosk

The kiosk takes one photo each time you clock in, start or end a break, or clock out. It shows the photo is really you, so nobody can clock in for someone else.

The camera is in plain view and only works when you use the kiosk. There is no hidden camera, no face recognition and no fingerprint or other biometric matching. Under the NSW Workplace Surveillance Act 2005, staff are told about workplace cameras before they are used.

Who can see your records

  • You: your own shifts, hours, roster and leave.
  • Your managers: the staff of their department, to approve shifts and leave.
  • Your restaurant's General Manager: everyone there.
  • Head office: to check hours and keep records for payroll.

A medical certificate or other leave document can be opened only by you, your department's managers, the General Manager and head office. We never sell your information or use it for advertising.

How it is kept safe

Records are stored in Sydney, Australia. Each restaurant's records are kept apart; every sign-in is private, and every change to a shift is logged with who made it and when. Welcome and password emails are sent through an email service provider.

How long we keep it

The Fair Work Act 2009 asks employers to keep time and pay records for 7 years. This app keeps time records, photos and leave for 8 full years after the year they belong to, then deletes them after a backup copy is made.

The rules we follow

  • Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles: we collect only what is needed and keep it secure.
  • Fair Work Act 2009 and Fair Work Regulations 2009: accurate time records, kept for 7 years, available to you on request.
  • Workplace Surveillance Act 2005 (NSW): cameras at work are in plain view and staff are told before they are used.

Your rights and questions

You can see your own hours and leave in the app at any time, ask for a copy of your records, and ask for a mistake to be corrected. Talk to your manager or General Manager first.

If a privacy concern is not resolved, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au). For pay and time records you can contact the Fair Work Ombudsman (fairwork.gov.au).

This page explains how the app works in plain English. It is general information, not legal advice.
